Threefold growth: exhibition space, exhibitors and visitors

Austria’s specialist trade show, Küchenwohntrends and Möbel Austria (6 - 8 May 2015) establishes itself with its second running.

küchenwohntrends and möbel austria trade fair

The successful 2013 premiere of the combined Küchenwohntrends and Möbel Austria trade show will be well surpassed this year. Significant improvements are expected in terms of quality and quantity for the combined exhibition taking place in the state-of-the-art Messezentrum Salzburg between the 6th and 8th of May 2015. Many renowned industry leaders and top furniture and kitchen brands will be represented – the high number of new exhibitors from BSH and EWE/FM through to Häcker, Liebherr and MHK confirms the market significance and acceptance for the exhibition.

Over 165 exhibitors and brands have registered for the show to date (2013: 130 exhibitors; +27 %). The strategic goal is to attract new customers from Austrian companies and those in neighbouring countries.

Repeat exhibitors from the first show will also be taking part, for example Alno, Anrei, Bau-for-mat, Berbel, Bora, Blanco, CAD+T, Carat, Compusoft, DER KREIS, Domo-Sanifer, Elastica, Forcher, Franke, Gaderform, Gertler Software, Grassmann, Gutmann, Haapo, Haas, HKT/Sedia, Joka, KH System Möbel, Lechner, Lederhilger, Manfred Zorn, Miele, Naber, Nobilia, Oranier, ProNatura, Regina Schlafkomfort, Relax Natürlich Wohnen, Schachermayer, Schösswender, Sedda, Shd, Silverline, Softronik, Speedmaster, Strasser, Systemceram, T-drei Wohnkollektion, Teka, Villeroy & Boch, Votteler, Wippro and Wittmann.

165 exhibitors with prominent newcomers

In the furniture sector, leading new additional companies have confirmed their participation including, amongst others, Csamay (Raumplus), die Holzschmiede, Mayer Sitzmöbel, Prenneis, Sandriesser and Wimmer. The electric installation devices section will be extending to include, for example, AEG/Electrolux, BSH Bosch, Neff and Siemens as well as Elektrabregenz, Gorenje and Liebherr. For Michael Mehnert, Director of BSH Hausgeräte Österreich, participation in the 2015 show is a logical next step because “The success of the first tradeshow showed just how big the need of such a market place is for the strong Austrian kitchen and furniture business sector!“.

The additional arrival of well-known kitchen manufacturers, which are expected to include Beckermann, EWE and FM, Häcker, Leicht, Nolte, Sachsenküchen and Schüller, shows that the combined tradeshow has developed into one of the headline events for this sector in Austria and in neighbouring countries. Trading groups including Der Küchenring, Europa Möbel, MHK Austria, MZE, Olina and Service & More (Garant Austria) will also be exhibiting at the show. The organisers have thus managed to gain interest from all relevant trading groups for the attractive trade show in late spring. Hans Georg Oberwallner (Director, Austria) summarises the thoughts of the exhibitors as follows “There is no location that is currently more in touch with the market than Salzburg“.

All round growth for the trade show

As the national Austrian trade show, the Küchenwohntrends and Möbel Austria attracts visitors from Austria, southern Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Italy and Switzerland. Furniture specialists and kitchen experts from medium size to large ranking business customers, architects and interior designers, furniture suppliers and designers through to joiners/carpenters are introduced to well-known exhibitors and impressive products and services.

This year the exhibitors and organisers are expecting approximately 3,500 visitors to an exhibition area of around 13.600 m² (2013: 10.100 m² = 35 % increase in size). The surprisingly good start to the furniture business in 2015 has led to expectations that this growth in the number of visitors (2013: 3,064 people/ +15 %) will be exceeded. “The premiere in 2013 didn’t just have a positive impact. It created an unbelievable market boost“, explains Ernst Tanzler, Director, MHK Österreich.
