First-hand knowledge: at the küchenwohntrends and möbel austria 2023 trade fairs, know-how transfer is a top priority

2023-03-23

"Podium Events" widely prepared - exciting topics and top-class speakers are already attracting much attention

There is just over a month left in the countdown: on 3 May 2023, the sixth edition of the three-day trade fair duo küchenwohntrends and möbel austria will begin in Salzburg, Austria. The events are exceptionally well booked, which already indicates a great demand for visitors. However, it is not only the attractive new products and product developments from the kitchen and furniture industry that will attract countless trade fair visitors - the podium events, which are designed to impart knowledge, will once again display their incomparable appeal. The organisers, Trendfairs GmbH, and the Upper Austrian location agency, Business Upper Austria, have defined the most important topics and secured interesting speakers.

The kitchen and furnishing trade fair duo addresses the specialised trade, craftsmen, real estate decorators and project developers in a target-oriented, trend-setting and comprehensive manner and arouses many desires in these target groups. Or to put it in the words of Alfred Weiß, Managing Director of Schösswender Möbel: "For us, möbel austria / küchenwohntrends 2023 is the ideal platform to present our new products to a knowledgeable audience. And it also offers the opportunity to network with other industry experts and innovative companies and to jointly shape the future of the furniture and living industry. (...) The high visitor frequency also offers a great opportunity to cultivate existing customer relationships and acquire new customers."

In the first week of May, major players in the kitchen furniture industry, household appliance manufacturers, a significant number of suppliers of home and upholstered furniture as well as accessories and accessories will present their new products for the Central European market in Salzburg. "This year, küchenwohntrends and möbel austria are the most important trade fairs for the sector in Austria, so it was quickly clear to us that EWE would be one of the 'show horses'. In this way, we are not only fulfilling our retail partners' wish for a trade fair presence, but we are also expressing our appreciation for our many loyal partners," Andreas Hirsch, CEO of the company, sums up his appreciation and emphasises: "We are definitely already looking forward to this event!"

For the network of decision-makers, product presentation and communication, the Podium Events have long been established at küchenwohntrends and möbel austria as a high-quality format for coaching and knowledge transfer. The preparations by the trade fair organisers Trendfairs and Business Upper Austria are well advanced and already show promising results. For example, Christian Wimmer (Managing Director of Service & More) will analyse and evaluate the success factors in the specialist furniture trade. Because regardless of the respective business model chosen, there are generally valid criteria and trends that are valuable for one's own decisions.

Hot topic, as for many of the industry's service providers rather "customer new territory", is the accessibility and life aspirations of "Generation Z". Dorentina Kodralija, Managing Director of the BMK, and Nikolaj Wulff (Inside trade magazine) will discuss with students from MöFa Cologne, the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences - Campus Kuchl, as well as entrepreneurs from industry and specialised trade on questions such as: What makes the 'GenZ' tick, what does this generation want and how does this affect everyday working life? Do employers have to 'dress warmly' or can they take advantage of this still new lifestyle? And what's the deal with the emphasis on work-life balance? This round of talks is sure to be one of the most exciting at the trade fair duo at the beginning of May.

Rudolf Eikenkötter of RMW Wohnmöbel, who is exhibiting for the first time at küchenwohntrends and möbel austria, is also looking forward to this Generation Z, which is in the starting blocks as customers as well as employees and managers. The managing partner of the Rietberg-based company therefore emphasises: "To be able to talk to a trade audience with which there is no contact today is exciting for us and will certainly provide many interesting insights for us. We are looking forward to participating and to the interesting trade fair format." With which he equally strikes the tone of Bora founder and CEO Willi Bruckbauer, who says: "Participation in küchenwohntrends and möbel austria in Salzburg is an important date in our trade fair calendar. We reach our customers there in Austria as well as southern Germany on a well-organised trade fair platform ..."

The planned panel contributions by the Swiss interior designer Branca Good will focus on customised living in the interplay of colour, form and material as well as on smart selling. Her recommendation is to cut off old habits and think outside the box, that's how contemporary selling works - to build long-term customer relationships and acquire new customers. Good is not only the founder of the "Materialothek" and a consultant, but also successful as an "interior design coach for noticeably beautiful rooms". Her creed: "I listen to people and spaces in order to design harmonious spaces."

Industry professional Roman Eberharter, not 'on stage' for the first time at the Podium Events, demands "New questions need new answers! - because digitalisation and sustainability are a 'must do' and not a 'nice to have'. Like many, he sees the future of the furnishing industry as 'green', sustainable and digital. And Eberharter knows what he's talking about, because his perspectives are diverse: he is the managing director of Betten Eberharter GmbH, works in an honorary capacity for the electrical and furnishing trade in the Tyrol Chamber of Commerce, and is president of the European umbrella organisation for the furniture trade, FENA.

The first names of the list of speakers for the Podium Events 2023 have thus been revealed. A sustainability talk on the bioeconomy and many other lectures and discussion rounds are also planned. Finally, one star guest whose appearance is guaranteed to have great appeal should be mentioned: the Austrian star chef, entrepreneur and author Johann Lafer. If you have whetted your appetite for möbel austria, the küchenwohntrends and the Podium events in particular, we recommend you visit the website https://www.kuechenwohntrends.at/all-about-the-exhibition/podium-events/. Soon all the contributions and their speakers will be listed here, updated daily - so there's hardly anything standing in the way of trade fair planning, successful business negotiations and a lot of "food for thought".

At the end, Martin Oberwallner, as Austria head of the "European purchasing association" Der Kreis, is to have his word: "The küchenwohntrends and möbel austria in Salzburg, the leading trade fair for the Austrian furnishing industry and its neighbouring European neighbours, will once again show its strength. Local and regional is the buzzword of our time. (...) As a partner from the very beginning, we know the professionalism of the organiser and can only invite all industry partners who have not yet booked at the moment to join us for an unforgettable event. Therefore, we are already looking forward to an exciting, informative performance show of our industry!"
