küchenwohntrends and möbel austria 2025: Convincing trade fair results Industry meeting point with significantly more visitors
enthusiasm on all sides
For three days, the Salzburg Exhibition Centre was the focal point of the international furnishing and kitchen industry. The seventh edition of the successful trade fair duo küchenwohntrends and möbel austria - organised by trendfairs GmbH and Business Upper Austria - OÖ Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH - was a resounding success from 7 to 9 May 2025 and consolidated the event's status as the largest trade fair for 'furnishing and kitchens' in the German-speaking region. With over 6,800 visitors from 31 countries, a new record was also set.
The seventh edition of the trade fair duo küchenwohntrends and möbel austria at the Salzburg Exhibition Centre marked a new high point in the event's success story. A total of 6,856 trade visitors flocked to the exhibition centre over three days - an increase of over 18 percent compared to the last event. If you add to this the exhibitors' representatives, the total attendance of over 7,800 people makes the exciting, euphoric atmosphere in the 15,000 square metre Hall 10 of the exhibition grounds completely understandable. Visitors came from 31 countries, with the traditional focus on Austria, Germany and Italy. This international reach and the strong interest from the DACH region once again emphasise the central importance of the trade fair double as the leading platform for the furnishing and kitchen industry in German-speaking countries. "The strong response and the consistently positive feedback have exceeded our expectations," says Michael Rambach, Managing Director and shareholder of trendfairs GmbH. "The visitor structure has also developed very positively." The trade audience consisted 100 per cent of qualified industry participants - managers and decision-makers from trade, crafts, industry, architecture, interior design and related sectors.
There are several reasons why the trade fair duo has quickly established itself as a permanent fixture since the first event in 2013: Firstly, the advantages of the Salzburg location are convincing: short distances on a modern exhibition centre, optimal accessibility by car, train and plane as well as an excellent price-performance ratio for accommodation and services make the trade fair experience particularly attractive for exhibitors and trade visitors. Even more importantly, küchenwohntrends and möbel austria have focused on dialogue, exchange and networking opportunities from the very beginning - this positioning makes the trade fair duo equally attractive for companies and decision-makers in the industry.
Strong brands, strong trade fair
And of course it was also the high-calibre exhibitor portfolio that ensured the high visitor frequency. The list of participating companies was characterised by diversity and quality, a who's who of the industry. The furnishing sector, for example, was represented by ADA, Anrei, Joka, Miaa Charakterwohnen, RMW, Sedda, Signet, Voglauer and Wimmer, among others. The line-up of premium exhibitors was also enriched by Sonnhaus, a major publisher of high-quality interior design products. Martin R. Fütterer from Voglauer, a leading Austrian furniture manufacturer, knew exactly why he was there again this year: "By participating in the trade fair, we also see an opportunity to set a strong signal for the further development of the furniture trade." A sense of new beginnings could be felt everywhere in the Salzburg exhibition halls. This also applies to ADA, where Margot Wisiak sees the trade fair as an important place to "... shape the future of living together with our partners (...) and ensure long-term success in the retail sector."
The right framework for a personalised customer approach
In addition to the furnishing specialists, the kitchen manufacturers were of course also prominent on site: Ballerina, Häcker, Leicht, Nolte, Nobilia, Rotpunkt, Schüller and many more presented their latest innovations this year. And in this segment, too, the advantages are seen in the personal character of the successful trade fair format: ‘Individual kitchen solutions are important to our customers, as individual as the people who live in them. küchenwohntrends & möbel austria gives us the right setting,’ said Günter Rassner from nobilia, for example. Major brands such as AEG, Beko, Bora, BSH, Gorenje, Liebherr and Miele also exhibited in Salzburg. The range was complemented by well-known suppliers and accessory specialists such as Blum, Häfele, Hera, Naber, Schachermayer, Speedmaster and Vogt as well as manufacturers of sinks, taps and worktops such as AKP, Blanco, Carat, Quooker, Schock, Strasser and Systemceram. For Blanco, the trade fair provided the perfect stage for a unique event: ‘We are celebrating our 100th anniversary and were able to celebrate this in style with our valued customers at the trade fair,’ says Thomas Hafner from Blanco Austria, for whom küchenwohntrends is a perfect presentation platform alongside the centenary: ‘At Blanco, we always maintain a direct dialogue with our customers at eye level. At küchenwohntrends we reach our target group from Austria and the neighbouring regions. (...) The pleasant atmosphere enables us to have good conversations - that makes küchenwohntrends a special event for us.’
Focus on the future of living and innovative strength
In addition to the quality of the exhibitors, it was once again the organisation of the trade fair that generated enthusiasm. For example, a separate competition was launched this year. The Interior Innovation Award 2025 was presented for the first time - a prize that recognises the outstanding product innovations in ten categories from among the new products on display. The proud winners included Brigitte Küchen in the lighting category, Hisense Gorenje in the electrical appliances category, Anrei received the award in the carcase furniture segment, Strasser and Leicht for kitchens, Ballerina won in the kitchen equipment category, Joka for upholstered furniture, Relax in the sleeping systems segment, Lavida for seating furniture and Julius Blum won the special jury prize. Impulses through podium events
The popular podium events were also in high demand in 2025. Renowned experts presented practical insights and discussed current industry trends. The summary ‘Kitchen trends and innovations 2025’ by kitchen studio owner and blogger Yvonne Zahn (‘Yvi's Küchen-Glück’) and the talk ‘Potentials of living space’ with Gerhard Habliczek (wohninsider) and engineer Martin Wetscher (Wetscher GmbH) were particularly well attended. The feedback from visitors, exhibitors and media representatives was positive all round: The seventh edition of the trade fair duo set new standards in terms of visitor quality, exhibitor presence and relevance of content. It is therefore only logical to look to the future: The next edition of küchenwohntrends and möbel austria is planned for 28 to 30 April 2027.
About the figures: It is interesting to analyse the visitor statistics according to professional groups and industry segments: The trade fair double was most in demand this year from the furniture trade (28%), closely followed by joiners and carpenters (25%), which corresponds to the growing importance of this guild. Representatives of kitchen studios (20 %), architects and interior designers (6 %) and decision-makers from the furniture and kitchen furniture industry (12 %). It was also pleasing that numerous project planners, property developers and contract partners as well as guests from construction and electrical markets made their way to Salzburg.
With over a third of all visitors, managing directors and owners are the most strongly represented group among the trade fair guests. Over 25 per cent from the sales and distribution sector underline the importance of this trade fair duo.
